• Account Information: Email address, display name, and a securely hashed password when you create an account.
• Tank Data: Information you provide about your reef tank including tank size, type, water parameters, livestock, equipment, maintenance schedules, and cost entries.
• Chat Conversations: Messages you exchange with the ReefPilot AI assistant, which are stored to provide conversation context and improve your experience.
• Photos: Tank photos you upload are stored on our servers.
• Usage Data: Basic app usage information to help us improve the service.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide personalized reef tank management advice and AI-powered recommendations.
• To track your water parameters, maintenance schedules, and costs over time.
• To generate health scores and insights based on your tank data.
• To improve and maintain the app's functionality.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Anthropic (Claude AI): Your tank profile and chat messages are sent to Anthropic's API to power the AI assistant. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to data processed by their service.
• Hosting Provider: Our servers are hosted by Railway. Your data is stored securely on their infrastructure.

4. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information:

• Passwords are hashed using bcrypt, an industry-standard algorithm.
• All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption.
• We limit access to personal data to authorized personnel only.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time through the app's Settings. When you delete your account:

• All personal data is permanently removed, including your profile, tank data, chat history, photos, maintenance records, cost entries, and milestones.
• This action is irreversible.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you (visible in your account).
• Delete your account and all associated data at any time.
• Contact us with any privacy concerns.

7. Children's Privacy

ReefPilot is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the app.
